Once Attuned, Always Attuned

Reiki With Friends

One of the recurring questions we get on Reiki Rays is this:

I was attuned X years ago, but I haven’t practiced during this time. Am I still attuned?

The short answer is: Yes!

The longer answer is that the attunement never “wears off” due to the lack of practice. While your energy channels may be “clogged”, you still have the ability to send Reiki, and can actually start right away.

Yes, you can start using Reiki as if you were attuned yesterday. It may take a while for the channels to clear, and it may be more difficult for you to sense the energy in the beginning. But you’ll begin to feel it soon enough. The more you practice, the sooner.

So no worries. Of course, you can always get re-attuned – it is a valid “shortcut”, but definitely not a requirement to be able to channel healing energy.
